Overview
In Heymarket, we understand the importance of efficient chat management for your business. The feature, "Close Chat After Period of Inactivity," is designed to help streamline your communication process by automatically closing inactive chats. This feature ensures that your inbox remains tidy and focused, allowing you to concentrate on active conversations.
How It Works
The "Close Chat After Period of Inactivity" feature allows you to set a specific time period after which an inactive chat will be automatically closed. The timer for inactivity starts after the last message sent by a Heymarket user (agent). If there is no further interaction in the chat from either side within the set period, the chat will be automatically closed.
Setting Up the Feature
- Accessing Settings: Navigate to the 'Settings' in your Heymarket account and select the inbox you’d like to configure the setting for.
- Adjusting Inactivity Period: In the settings, look for the 'Close Chat After Period of Inactivity' option.
- Once you enable the setting, you can input the desired period of inactivity (in days, hours or minutes) after which the chat will be closed automatically.
- Saving Changes: After setting the desired time, ensure to save your changes.
Key Points to Remember
- This feature applies only to new chats created after the setting is enabled. We do not proactively close old chats that were inactive before the implementation of this feature. This ensures that your historical conversations remain accessible, while new chats are managed more efficiently.
- The inactivity timer begins after the last message from a Heymarket user, not the customer.
- This feature helps in keeping your chat list uncluttered by automatically closing chats that have been inactive for the set period.
- You can customize the period of inactivity according to your business needs.
- The settings are applied at an inbox-level.
