How to Build a 10DLC-Compliant Privacy Policy
Carriers require your privacy policy to be transparent and easily accessible. Your privacy policy should include:
- Information Collected: e.g., name, phone number, email.
- Collection Methods: How you gather data (forms, texts).
- Usage: Why do you collect this data (e.g., personalization).
- Sharing: Declare that you don’t sell or share personal data with third parties. Recommended Language:
"Mobile information or text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes."
- Security: Describe how you protect the data.
- Opt-Out Instructions: How users can stop receiving texts. To share opt-out instructions with users, we recommend sharing the following language in your privacy policy:
"Text Message Opt-Out: If you are receiving text messages from us and wish to stop receiving them, simply respond with either “STOP” or “UNSUBSCRIBE” to the number from which you received the message. You will not receive further text messages unless you opt back in."
