Heymarket is moving to a single usage currency called credits. Wherever you used to see message segments — in your subscription, usage reports, and invoices — you will now see credits.
What changed
Previously, usage was measured in SMS message segments. Heymarket has since added more channels:, RCS, email, and AI agent interactions.
Credits replace message segments as one currency across every channel.
How credits are counted by channel
| Channel | Credits used | Pricing Change |
| SMS | 1 credit per segment | None. Same as before (1 message segment). |
| RCS standard | 1 credit per segment | None. New item. |
| 1 credit per message | None. Same as before (1 message segment). | |
| 1 credit per 10 emails | Changed from 1 message segment per 12 emails. | |
| MMS | 2 credits per segment | Changed from 1 message segment per 1 MMS. |
| RCS rich messaging | 3 credits per segment | None. New item. |
| AI agent interaction |
3 credits per 160-character segment
|
None. New item. |
Note: Text messages longer than 160 characters will use more than one credit, and messages containing emoji or special characters are limited to 70 characters per credit because of how mobile carriers encode them. Heymarket shows the segment count below the character count as you compose, and warns you before sending a message that is over one segment. Inbound messages count toward your allotment. WhatsApp template fees charged by Meta are passed through separately and are not credits.
When credits go into effect
Your account will convert to credits upon your next renewal after August 19, 2026. Nothing changes in the middle of your current term, and past usage is not impacted.
| Your plan | Converts on |
| Monthly | Your next monthly renewal |
| Annual | Your annual renewal date |
| Annual agreement billed monthly | Your agreement anniversary, not your monthly invoice |
New Heymarket accounts created after August 19, 2026 will immediately utilize credits.
For existing customer, there's nothing to migrate, re-sign, or reconfigure.
Changes to existing accounts
- Invoice. Line items that used to read “message segments” will read “credits.”
- Usage reports in Heymarket. Same numbers, renamed unit.
- Usage notification emails (75% used, 90% used, allotment reached) will refer to credits.
During the rollout you may briefly see “segments” in one place and “credits” in another, depending on whether your account has converted yet. Once your renewal passes, everything reads credits.
Why MMS uses 2 credits
Mobile carriers charge more to deliver a multimedia message than a standard text, because MMS uses more delivery infrastructure.
Why AI agent interactions use 3 credits
Each AI agent interaction is doing more than delivering a message, it's resolving a question or completing a task while consuming AI model capacity.
Frequently asked questions
Is my plan price going up?
Your plan amount and your allotment aren't changing, and your message segments convert to credits one-for-one. What changes is how quickly certain message types draw down that allotment — an MMS now uses 2 credits instead of 1, and an AI agent interaction uses 3.
Do I need to change how I send messages?
No. Nothing about composing or sending changes. If you send a lot of MMS, it's worth knowing that each one now utilizes two credits.
Do inbound messages use credits?
Yes, this remains unchanged. Inbound messages count toward your allotment at the same rate as outbound.
Is anything else about my pricing changing at the same time?
No. This change covers the credit model, the MMS and AI agent rates, and the email line items described above. Your plan structure and per-credit price are otherwise unchanged.
Where can I see my credit usage?
Go to the Subscription section of Heymarket Web Administration to see the current usage, billing date, and past invoices.
